Hilary Davis is a Scottish/Dutch writer. She studied French & German at the University of Glasgow and promptly forgot how to speak both. 

In 2026 she is writing ‘tägliche tableaux’, a German-language sometimes-fiction-sometimes-literary-non-fiction newsletter on Substack.

In March she will self-publish ‘The Fluffle Family Adventures’, a collection of stories about anthropomorphic cuddly toys finding a new home, under the nom-de-plume Lara Davis. ‘Lara’ is easier for the teddies to pronounce.
